Job Summary
The Sr Pharmacy Commercial Sales Consultant will partner with Sales and the Marketing team to develop messaging, content, and materials to articulate the value proposition of an integrated medical and pharmacy benefit offering to maximize employer group retention and to counter detail pharmacy carve-outs. This position will serve as the primary liaison within the pharmacy organization responsible for the development of a streamlined communication channel for the delivery of pharmacy content, strategic decisions and program offerings to the Sales and marketing teams necessary to service existing and potential employer groups/brokers. This role will support the pharmacy team with the development of a standardized framework for the intake and delivery of strategic responses to interdepartmental RFP/RFI (request for proposals/request for information) requests. Collaborate with select Point32Health business stakeholders and vendors to synthesize complex data into easily consumable content for various audiences. Experience in the PBM industry or in Health Plan Pharmacy contracting and strategy is required.
Key Responsibilities/Duties - what you will be doing
  • Responsible for supporting Sales to develop and successfully execute new business sales and retention
  • Responsible for consolidating and communicating key pharmacy program changes, updates and industry trends and headwinds to Sales and Marketing teams
  • Develop specific pharmacy content for strategic employer group annual performance reviews and attend employer group performance and finalist meetings as needed
  • Responsible for large/key account oversight including operational and financial performance
  • Any other tasks as defined by management not named above, as required to support internal and external stakeholders, clients, and partners
  • Lead support for RFP/RFI analysis and management to ensure best practices
  • Provide support and develop content to inform the annual Health Fair for the house account

Qualifications - what you need to perform the job
Education, Certification and Licensure
  • BA, BS in health care or business required
  • Master's in health care or business administration strongly preferred

Experience (minimum years required):
  • Requires 7 to 10 years of experience in managed care environment, PBM or pharmaceutical industry, of which 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience occurred within health care consulting, business/strategic planning, and/or sales and account management with multidisciplinary teams
  • Must be highly proficient at leveraging data and content to develop impactful presentations for senior level audiences, including brokers and employer groups and inside Sales and Sales leadership and other stakeholders

Operational understanding and competence with PBM business model and financial and pricing models
  • Experience with managing and influencing a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Experience with taking calculated risks while exercising sound judgment and initiative
  • Experience thriving in a matrix environment evidenced through measurable goal attainment

  • Must be capable of handling multiple project and assignments concurrently, work independently and proactively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-departmental and leadership skills to manage high profile, strategic projects. Must be able to work cooperatively as a team player
  • Must have critical thinking skills to understand complex implementations and gain depth in understanding subject matter
  • Interacts independently with all levels of Point32Health management, staff, administrative personnel, and vendors
  • Must be self-directed, politically astute, and have outstanding interpersonal, and written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Requires ability to assess all work and prioritize as necessary. Must be highly organized and able to juggle multiple priorities effectively. Must be able to work both autonomously and as a team player
  • Must be adaptable to change and ambiguous situations and maintain constructive behavior and performance under stress. Must possess the ability to react quickly and calmly under pressure. Must have resilience and stamina while working through challenging situations
  • Requires high-energy and strong teamwork skills for mobilizing staff around a goal
  • Must be able to exercise appropriate business judgment as necessary
  • Requires the ability to deal with complex situations and individuals while managing multiple priorities
  • Requires a high degree of confidentiality regarding THP strategies, provider issues, and member issues
  • Strong proficiency using MS Office: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel):
  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required
  • Ability to travel to attend employer group health fairs and performance and finalist meetings
  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations
  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule
