Job Description
As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of the organization's networks. Your primary focus will be on safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information by identifying and mitigating security risks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies, conduct regular security assessments, and respond to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Security Architecture:
- Design and implement robust Network Security architectures, ensuring the protection of critical assets.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions to enhance the overall security posture.
Firewall and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS):
- Configure, manage and optimize firewall and IPS devices.
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for signs of malicious activity and respond accordingly.
Virtual Private Networks (VPNs):
- Implement and manage VPN solutions to secure communication over public networks.
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of data transmitted through VPN connections.
Identity and Access Management:
- Design and enforce access controls to restrict unauthorized access to network resources.
- Implement and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Utilize security information and event management (SIEM) tools for continuous monitoring.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
Vulnerability Management:
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Collaborate with system administrators and developers to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
Security Policies and Procedures:
- Develop, document, and enforce Network Security policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging security threats.
Security Awareness and Training:
- Educate and train network and IT staff on security best practices.
- Conduct periodic security awareness programs for end-users.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure Network Security compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Assess and manage security risks associated with network infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Network Security Engineering.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
