Job Description
A government agency in Richmond, VA is looking to fill the role of Senior Network Engineer. In this role you will Assist with the Design, Installation, Configuration and maintenance of network-related architectures. These architectures include Cisco ISE Meraki Wi-Fi, Cisco ISE & Cisco SDWAN Wide Area Technology is a must. As this will be supporting 2k+ network devices. DMVPN Experience based on Cisco Technology is a core requirement. Advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP & OMP). Network Analytics with NetFlow (Stealthwatch is a plus)
Position Type: Contract (6 months Initial contract period with continuing 6-month renewals.)
Work Mode: Hybrid (in office 3 days a week, as scheduled by the manager)
Interview Mode: 1 or 2 rounds of interviews, remote using Webex or Teams (webcam required), and In-person
Pay Rate Range: $50.00- $60.00
Responsibilities Overview:
• Design, implement, and evaluate SD-WAN solutions and configuration in a large-scale network. (Expert)
• Cisco ACI Experience - Senior Level
• Network Packet Analysis - Expert
• Experience with Enterprise Network Management Platforms
• Networking Experience is a requirement (Experience with certifications is a plus).
• Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of the infrastructure.
• Demonstrate a high level of competency in multiple network & security disciplines / services.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of network security concepts and technologies, such as firewalls, VPN, and IPS/IDS,
Event Analysis, Network Analytics, Packet Analysis
• Tracks work using an industry level tracking system.
• Responsible for scheduled and non-scheduled after-hours maintenance.
• Act as an escalation point for other Engineers, Consultants, Management, and courts that provide state services.
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills.
Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum of 5-7 years' relevant Enterprise Routing & Switching experience.
• Qualified candidates will have Cisco CCNP is a minimum for Routing & Switching (Now known as Enterprise) or the ability to obtain.
• In-depth understanding of network & security concepts and ability to implement solutions,
• Hands on experience with ACI, SDWAN & DMVPN
• Hands on experience with Advanced Switching environments (Nexus, IOS & IOS-XE & ACI)
• Ability to work without supervision and function as a self-starter.
• Experience in communicating technical situations to a non-technical audience.
• Experience in communicating status to management and ranking personnel.
• Flexibility to work or be contacted off-hours as required.
• Willingness to travel as needed (occasional)
