Job Summary
The Wholesale Junior Underwriter is an intermediate-level role within the Operations Department. The Wholesale Junior Underwriter is the gatekeeper of the loan from initial approval status until clear to close (CTC) status. The primary goal of this role is to organize, review and sort documents as they are uploaded, in addition to making any changes as requested by our sales partners (i.e., Brokers, Processors and Account Executives) to the loan with the ability to convey all updates thoroughly. This position also ensures all loans meet the required compliance rules and provides resolution to our customers.
Summary of Role and Responsibilities
- Initial review of disclosures in all loans
- Review of all documents uploaded to loans for Underwriter and Junior Underwriter review – please elaborate to include what documents they’re reviewing and possibly the timeline
- Review of all loans for initial closing disclosure (CD)
- Review qualified mortgage (QM) points and fees for all loans

Preferred Experience
- 3+ years of previous mortgage experience
- Working knowledge of TRID and its requirements
- Knowledge of federal and state disclosure requirements
- Understanding of qualified mortgage rules.
- Ability to conduct changes of circumstance
- Working knowledge of loan processing for a variety of loan types (e.g., Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and Jumbo)
- General knowledge of consumer lending and industry regulations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products(Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Advanced oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to resolve problems quickly yet efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities with strong organizational skills
- Proven success working in fast-paced environments with precise attention to detail
