JOB SUMMARY

DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) is an innovative, community-based behavioral health and developmental disabilities services organization located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, offering a full range of mental health services, developmental disabilities programs and substance abuse treatment to more than 15,000 citizens annually who are uninsured and underinsured. As a public, not-for-profit organization, the DeKalb CSB operates more than 20 locations in DeKalb County with a diverse workforce of more than 400 direct-care and support staff.

DeKalb CSB is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

The Substance Use Director will report to the Chief Clinical Officer and will be responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of the DeKalb Addiction Clinic and Opioid Residential Program. Plans and directs substance use disorder, co-occurring, problem gambling, relapse prevention and HIV counseling and testing services. The Director will be responsible for ensuring quality client care, staff performance, and organizational and community partner activities to support the mission and vision of the DeKalb Community Service Board.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS

  1. Oversees the coordination and administration of substance use services, gambling services and HIV related services.
  2. Manages all aspects of personnel under the responsibility of the director with appropriate collaboration as necessary
  3. Demonstrates data driven decision capabilities in daily operations and long-term planning
  4. Oversees and ensures compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  5. Role models excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
  6. Ensures environmental safety and therapeutic milieu for staff and clients
  7. Monitoring of program budgets

CLINICAL

  1. Plans the delivery of overall programming and activities and assures ongoing clinical appropriateness
  2. Ensures high quality documentation through reviews, audits, and adherence to agency guidelines
  3. Assures ethical standards and the provision of highest level of services
  4. Enhances development of staff by ensuring clinical supervision and on-going education
  5. Provides clinical leadership to promote best practices

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTRIBUTION

SKILL, COMPETENCY AND EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Training & Experience: Candidate must have a current GA license as a LCSW, LPC or LMFT. At least 2 years of experience with substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders treatment. At least 2 years of supervisory experience. Must be computer proficient.


Preferred Qualifications: In addition to independent clinical license: CPCS if LPC. MAC or CACII. Demonstrated success in Management and Leadership. Personal ability to inspire and lead professional team and executive qualities to ensure effective operations in a mission driven Healthcare Organization. Prior experience working with Electronic Medical Record.


INTER-RELATIONSHIPS

Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, internal and external customers and the public. Ability to interact and communicate with clients and their families effectively.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Outpatient clinic and residential treatment program settings - primarily Monday -Friday 8:15am-5:00pm with expectation to have on-site presence at least one non-dayshift per month at the residential program and with expectation of on-call responsibilities in coordination with the program manager.

Ability to use a computer, telephone, fax, copy and scanning machine.

High ethical standards demonstrated in all aspects of behavioral health practice. Able to lead a team that promotes learning, excellence and optimal outcomes for clients. Critical thinking, exemplary interpersonal skills, and a consistent, contributing demeanor is required. Ability to promote a person-centered, recovery oriented, and trauma informed philosophy in client care.
