Job Description
Pay Grade: J
Under general supervision, conducts research involving data collection and analysis, develops and implements policy, and administers social services programs.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Receiving referrals for children to be featured on Wednesday's Child, Grant Me Hope, and Georgia Kids Belong.
  • Collaborating with the Adoption Exchange Consultant to ensure that the referred child/youth is eligible for filming and video shoots.
  • Collaborating with Fox 5 to determine the location and/or activity that will provide the child/youth being filmed for Wednesday's Child with the best experience based on the child's interests and aspirations for the future.
  • Collaborating with Grant Me Hope and Georgia Kids Belong to determine the location, schedule, and activity for video shoots.
  • Building and sustaining strong working partnerships with local organizations, companies, and vendors to support the Division's recruitment efforts.
  • Ensuring that each child/youth being filmed is prepared (grooming, comfortable, etc.).
  • Responding to inquiries regarding children/youth featured on media outlets.
  • Updating the status of children/youth featured on the various website of the above named programs.
  • Monitoring results of youth featured on various media outlets to be able to highlight success stories.
  • Coordinating the annual Wednesday's Child celebration.
  • Participating in Statewide Adoption Match Meetings and Adoption Parties as needed.
  • Complying with all budget reporting policies regarding travel, project purchases, etc.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date and accurate budget.
  • Contract oversight of the Wendy's Wonderful Kids Program to include referrals for children appropriate for the program, working with vendor on meeting deliverables, tracking results, etc.
  • Serves as a back-up for RAC and Adoption Exchange Duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.

OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of related experience.

OR
  • Five (5) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience
  • Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience working with children and youth in care.

OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four years (4) of experience working with children and youth in care.

  • Passion, energy, and enthusiasm for creating permanency for children/youth in foster care.
  • Strong networking and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
