Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Technology (IMT), the Enterprise Technology group supporting all business functions under Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for Senior Manager, Technology Product Management within our Data & Insights Product Group supporting JJIM Commercial Pharma business. This position’s primary location will be in Titusville, NJ and may require occasional travel within the New Jersey/Pennsylvania area.

The Senior Manager, Technology Product Management position will have specific responsibilities as an real-world data platform manager with good technical skills, delivering high impact analytic products and solutions that address the evolving needs of the Business. The IT Senior manager will collaborate with IT peers, Global Commercial Strategy Organization, RWE V&E, Epidemiology, EMEA RWE, R&D DS, and Med Tech business stakeholders, Vendors, Architecture & Data science teams. The Key area of focus is defining vision, strategy, roadmap and lead the design and development of a global RWD ecosystem to server as an industry-leading, J&J enterprise-wide platform with unparalleled capabilities for RWD Data Management and Analytics.

Key responsibilities:

Product Management

  • As a Technical Product owner, define and communicate to key partners the product vision and strategy including new features and improvements for products in Data Insights & Data Science product group. Identify and prioritize product features backlog in alignment with business strategy.
  • Define business value, measurement of return on investment, and realization of business outcomes. They will own and manage total cost of ownership, including spend on vendors and services throughout product life cycle.
  • Drive technology strategies, and product roadmaps in alignment with our Technology strategy in close partnership with business and other stakeholders.
  • Enable future-state business capabilities with a focus on technology disruption, speed, agility, and flexibility.
  • Drive and measure adoption, retention, and customer satisfaction of Data Analytics products.
  • Coach business and technical product owners on product management standard methodologies to ensure consistency across the product.
  • Partner across other products, product groups to define and deliver innovative solutions, ensuring coordinated and cohesive strategies.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements that can influence product strategy, roadmap, and innovation.

Solutioning & Delivery

  • Define the standards for the product, including overall design and features, development standards, release management processes and schedules, testing / validation, and compliance in partnership with business and vendors.
  • Partner with business to shape & co-create product roadmap for current and future needs.
  • Focus on Business agility, Agile product delivery with a fail-fast approach and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive product health, technical quality, development, and support services through consistent metrics reporting.
  • Perform source data analysis, data discovery, collaborate with business and peer teams to synthesize the business requirements - to define and translate business needs into user stories, prioritize product backlog, and define sprint plans.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Lead lifecycle of products and complete upgrade/decommission strategy as appropriate.
  • Lead data governance and access polices based on specific data needs.
  • Drive continual measurement of capabilities against demand volume, complexity, business challenges and improvement within value stream(s).

Qualifications

  • A bachelor ’s degree in • computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or technical field.
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of technology development (platforms or products)
  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in solution architecture, data engineering, observational / real world data, and/or ownership of technical products leading mid-large product teams, delivering results, demonstrating leadership, influencing skills, and interdependent partnering skills.
  • Extensive expertise in data modeling, data ingestion, data processing, data engineering, data analytics, data management, database migration, and database administration, encompassing best practices, standards, and recommended approaches.
  • Business acumen in pharmaceutical, data science and/or real-world data space.
  • Expertise on cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP in managing and enabling environments and products with a focus on data enablement. Expertise in Amazon Web Services like VPC, IAM, S3, EC2, Redshift, RDS, EMR, Athena, AWS Glue/EMR, DMS, Data pipeline & API, Lambda, etc.
  • Experience in end-to-end data engineering processes including but not limited to the designing of reusable and maintainable workflows leveraging Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python, Spark/PySpark and/or other programming languages.
  • Experience in data warehouse and RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL & Oracle, and analytical tools such as Databricks, Tableau/PowerBI/Qlik, and other business intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Experience designing, building, and implementing user-centric solutions focused on the consumption of data.
  • Ability to translate discussions into actionable user requirements and project plans.
  • Excellent in communication, interpersonal, written skills and creative problem-solving to drive innovation, adapt to evolving technology.
  • Demonstrable experience crafting technical solutions for business problems; understands both business processes and technical solutions.
  • Agile development experience, SDLC methodology, risk management including information security. Solid understanding of JIRA.
  • Experience in leading high performing teams working in an end-to-end solution.
  • This position’s primary location will be in Titusville NJ, with up to 10% travel in NJ/PA.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in technology
  • Experience working with large scale electronic health records (EHR), Electronic medical records (EHR), claims data and/or registries, and surveys data.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7/FHIR, OMOP.
  • Experience as a Product Manager, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences industry, with a focus on data platforms and Real-World Evidence and executing projects across a large de-centralized business.
  • Extensive expertise in data platform management, with the ability to architect, lead, and oversee the evaluation of architecture to identify new solutions and approaches for optimizing cost, resource utilization, and performance. Dedicated to ensuring the continuous growth of data assets and enhancing the user experience.
  • Experience working with data catalog products and/or similar implementations, ensuring data governance, security, and compliance aligning with organizational standards.
  • Skilled in leadership and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientist, analyst, engineers, and stakeholders to define and execute the product roadmap and ensure successful implementation of RWE solutions.
  • Experience in developing large scale systems with high business impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams within a project, providing functional and technical assistance as needed and driving product development from ideation to launch.

Salary

For US based candidates, the base pay range for this position is $206,600 USD to $271,440 USD. 

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
