This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX, Roswell, GA or Warren, MI, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Role:

As Sr. Manager for Data Governance, you will be part of the organization that is accountable to facilitate and influence processes and behaviors across data and analytics teams to ensure that GM is successful in build and governance of enterprise Data Assets. This role will be responsible for transforming Data Governance practices with attention to scale federated governance across the Azure analytics data mesh.  This role will exist as part of the Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Insights (EDAI) Data Enablement team.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience and successes with leading multi-domain Data Governance functions and demonstrates a flexible collaboration style across Data Domains and Geographies and Personas.  Success in this role will be reflected through qualitative and quantitative outcomes that measure Data Governance practical adoption and ensures that critical Data Governance principles are embedded as part of the Data Product delivery lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the strategy, planning and implementation of an Enterprise Data Governance program in collaboration across several Data Domain across the Analytics data mesh
  • Lead teams to perform technical and business evaluation of Data Governance tools and services that are cloud native (Azure based) and can scale optimally with automation for the Data Domains
  • Influence and drive Azure policy management, Databricks permissions and administration that will enable effective Data Governance outcomes across the Data mesh
  • Build a high performing Enterprise Data Governance team - balance technology and business acumen and transform with clarity roles and responsibilities for the team
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk management and Domain Data Product producers to build and align Enterprise Data Governance roadmap and associated capabilities processes, tools and features meet business delivery needs and outcomes are compliant and secure
  • Collaborate with cloud technology teams to leverage cloud platforms and services for data storage, processing, and analytics so Data Governance functions can be realized.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and maturity models to measure Enterprise Data Governance functions.
  • Partner with Enterprise Data Analytics & Insights (EDAI) portfolio management to balance Data Governance priorities and data asset registration
  • Establish a cross Data Domain Data Governance Community of Enablement through stewardship, collaboration with new features balance on needs, onboarding  and the implementation of continual improvement transformations.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience driving data technology and enabling transformation for Business Units and Corporate Functions with Product Delivery and/or Data Governance capabilities – relevant consulting experience acceptable
  • 3+ years of direct leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration or related field
  • Prior experience with leading either Enterprise or multi-Data Domain Data Governance tools and processes following a federated model.  
  • Practical experience with the implementation and operations of Data Governance tools and platforms, such as Atlan, Immuta, Atacama, Collibra, Informatica, or similar.
  • Practitioner in all aspects of the information lifecycle management flow with experience leading analytics or Data Governance teams across a global Federated Data Mesh
  • Proficient with cloud platforms and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and tools such as Databricks (Data Lakehouse, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Delta Share)
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and data classification.
  • Proven experiences with building new teams and influencing innovations with Data Governance capabilities across lines of business participating in the GM Data Mesh
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and enablement skills to transform Data Governance processes and measures for success with stakeholders across the organization.


 

Additional Description

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. 

  • The salary range for this role is $156,200 - $239,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
