• Hands-on experience in Data Analytics with Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana (ELK), Kafka

Client is looking for someone that has experience with ElasticSearch and Kibana. The ElasticSearch experience should be with working with large data sets and how to structure them in to documents along with the ElasticSearch Nodes themselves. The Kibana side, yes is dashboards, but a lot of the features we have had requested will likely require someone that also has experience writing kibana plugins (and maybe some code outside that too). However, experience with building dashboards in security fields or understanding of expectations in the security fields is a major bonus. LogStash is something we also use... but not really for logs. It pulls data from our database, and actually does some analysis with that data before putting it into ElasticSearch. In we are in the process of evaluating the best solution for this.
About You
You have experience integrating tools together. If you've taken Tool A, added it to Tool B, and made it more than the sum of its parts, this position is for you.
You know some common scripting languages: python, ruby, PowerShell, and you enjoy using them. Experience with REST APIs is also necessary.
You love to show off shiny visualizations and view data in new and interesting ways.
You enjoy working with databases such as Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL.
Experience in working with 'big data' (o0h, Buzzword!) is a 'big plus,' as we have a tool that can obtain a huge pile of it.
We just need you to tell us how we can use it. Math geek? You rock.
You have experience building cyber security applications, or you at least have a genuine interest in doing so. Experience counts, but attitude and raw talent are better.
Desirements

BS Degree in Computer Science, Software Systems Engineering, or something in a similar field. An MS in one of those fields is a bonus.
Technical trade school or practical experience in lieu of a degree will be considered, too.
4-10 years of full-time experience in building good, solid, bug-free, award-winning code. Code that makes your mama proud. Code so clean you can eat off it.
Two or more years working with Kibana and Elasticsearch.
Remote opportunity available; however, you will be expected to come hang out in our office from time to time.
