Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is an ethical, compliant, and empathetic support partner to the plant leadership, and team members. They demonstrate creative collaboration that helps promote a diverse and inclusive work environment which is safe for all team members. Hydro Portland is recruiting for a seasoned and forward-looking professional who wants to positively impact the company culture. The successful candidate will possess previous direct working experience in Human Resources (HR) and a desire for innovation and interfacing with team members.
Required Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalency required.
- One to three years prior HR generalist experience required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Fluency in English is mandatory including the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Fluency is Spanish or Vietnamese a plus.
- One to two years’ experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
- UKG payroll, MS Office, SharePoint skills preferred.
- HRCI, SPHR and/or SHRM certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related field preferred; or associate degree with four or more years of professional HR experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to the creation of a safe, secure, and healthy working environment and to the achievement of the Company’s environmental obligations and goals.
- Liaise between management and team members to resolve concerns.
- Work with HRBP to develop engagement and retention activities that support the business unit.
- Accurate maintenance of HR systems.
- Follow corporate guidelines on the storage, retention, and destruction of personnel data.
- Ensure completion of annual compliance trainings, reviews and goals, and open enrollment.
- Communicate and enforce all protocols outlined by the Company and state and federal governments.
