ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contributes to project identification and definition. Normally works under the guidance of a supervisor. Develops, implements and/or supports assigned technologies, products, and processes. Responsible for other projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Primarily an individual contributor role; however, capable of leading a team in technical projects. May supervise non-exempt and hourly employees.
• Proven experience beyond education to support and deliver high quality products and processes through the application of engineering principles. Exhibits competency and begins to develop expertise in multiple engineering technologies. Performs work which involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, incomplete market requirements, unsuitability of standard materials and multiple project coordination.
• Independently evaluates, selects and applies engineering principles to product and process modifications. Exercises independent judgment to define project objectives and engineering / scientific approach. Assignments may require development of unclear objectives and require investigation of multiple variables.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
Support, manage and implement the construction of new and existing facilities improvements. Facilities improvements include buildings, electrical systems, HVAC systems, water and sewer, fire protection systems, grounds, roads, parking and other building improvements. Support and implement the construction of manufacturing infrastructure systems. Manufacturing infrastructure systems include compressed air, sawdust collection, electrical distribution and other systems. Manage and Implement maintenance processes to support maintenance and repair of existing building/manufacturing infrastructure systems and troubleshoot key manufacturing equipment utilizing the Maintenance Process. Implement energy conservation and other projects to support sustainability initiatives. Provides functional expertise related to mechanical, electrical, and compressed air systems, building construction and renovation, and risk management/building conservation.
Qualifications
• 3+ years combined engineering experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math, or relevant Science or combination of education and experience. Responsible for ongoing development of technical and leadership competencies.
• Able to work Normal + irregular hours/shifts
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Oracle and AutoCAD required
