We’re looking for an energetic, motivated, driven & collaborative Senior EHS Manager with extensive environmental experience for our client’s long-standing, Heavy Industry manufacturing operations in Utah. This position is a key member of the Site Leadership Team & provides leadership, strategy, and direction for the EHS department.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Safety 1st Focus, with 7+ years of experience working as an EHS Mgr with experience in Safety.
• 7+ years of experience working on the Environmental side of EH&S.
• 10+ years of experience working in Heavy Industry, with 5+ years of experience in a Leadership role in EH&S.
• Proven track record in developing, implementing & overseeing all aspects of EH&S & Security in a complex industrial setting, preferably at multiple locations.
• Extensive knowledge & experience with EHS regulations, laws & guidelines & the ability to work with regulatory agencies.
• Experience with chemicals, gases, acids/caustic and toxic materials hugely beneficial
• Superior ability to influence/persuade stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides strategic direction & all of the day-to-day operations and activities of the EHS group. Primary objective is to effectively implement and continually improve processes to ensure the safe & regulatory-compliant production of the company’s products and to keep employees, contractors, visitors, etc. safe.

• Responsible for developing a comprehensive EHS Strategy to identify, quantify & mitigate risk to the environment, people, process, and profitability of ongoing complicated, diverse operations at the site
• Perform as a thought leader for a complex chemical and metallurgical operating plant with complex regulatory requirements combined with significant legacy environmental issues to resolve
• Serves as an agent for change, challenging the status quo and enabling/empowering new and innovative solutions to known problems
• Develops, evaluates, implements, and directs EHS & policies, programs & procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, regulations & requirements
• Develops & leads comprehensive cross-discipline EHS improvement plans across all of the site and operations
• Leads, coaches, and develops cross-functional team/ staff of EH&S, and Security subject matter experts and leverages corporate support function to complement known gaps
• Effectively influences peer leaders regarding their ownership of day-to-day operations related to EHS excellence
• Ensures proper and timely investigation and reporting of environmental health and safety-associated incidents
• Manages relationships/ contracts with various contractors/consultants to achieve EHS excellence while controlling cost
• Ensures determination of root cause and implementation of appropriate corrective action including development / enhancement of EH&S policies related to events
• Leads the EHS function and maintains focus on the technical expertise, bench strength, and leadership/change management skills necessary to support the site Operations
• Ensure comprehensive strategic/continuous improvement plan exists for regulatory compliance activities
