Sr. Enterprise Cloud Architect

Position Summary:
The Senior Enterprise Cloud Architect is responsible for ensuring that the organization's IT solutions are built within a consistent framework and aligned to Athletico's strategy. This Architect implements and leads activities that impact multiple components and processes within the IT portfolio. This role will oversee the implementation of Athletico's Cloud Architecture and related operational practices including involvement in complex, strategic efforts that frequently require the application of independent judgment and creativity.
This role will possess a deep understanding of business goals, objectives and related outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes. The Senior Architect will also partner with a matrixed set of technology teams and various business domains to create deliverables for managing the organization's portfolio of current and future solutions, including systems (applications, processes, and data), shared infrastructure and application services, as well as components to enable and drive targeted business outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and evolve Athletico's overall technology strategy, cloud technology model, and related operational governance standards.
• Serve as a strong advocate for the business within IT and ensure that technology execution aligns with Athletico's business strategy to achieve value-driven outcomes.
• Facilitate and drive adoption and delivery of the lean enterprise architecture practice within an agile delivery framework.
• Gathers technical requirements and functional specifications, assessing the current software systems in place in order to identify areas requiring improvement, and working closely with development and infrastructure teams to achieve optimal results.
• Collaborate with leadership, business, and technical teams to align and map the business vision and strategy to value streams, business capabilities, and business functions.
• Collaborate with segment and domain architects, engineers, and leadership to document the technology architecture across each business domain and define the associated capability models.
• Apply portfolio rationalization to map the coverage between business and technology capabilities to identify opportunities for innovation, as well as reduction of risk, complexity, and total cost of operations.
• Choose and adeptly use appropriate on-premises and cloud services, technologies, tools, and methodologies ensuring that the architecture is robust, integrated, and that cost is optimized and aligned with Athletico's long-term objectives.
• Facilitate architectural council working group discussions across app development, infrastructure, security and identity, database, cloud, and other IT stakeholders to inform Athletico's overall technology landscape.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years of proven experience in various architecture-related roles
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience establishing cloud platforms from all facets, including governance, best practice designs, security and audit controls, and operationalization.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience building native cloud applications preferably in Azure
• Experience establishing and helping teams adopt DevSecOps best practices and related tooling associated with all elements of Application Development Lifecycle Management (ADLM) activities.
• Experience architecting and building both Android and iOS mobile applications.
• Experience with Containerization and CI/CD Automation.
• Experience managing and mentoring direct reports as well as others in a matrixed organization.
• Experience with cost management and optimization of IT systems both on-premises and in the cloud while maintaining business continuity and appropriate disaster recovery practices.
• Demonstrated excellence when facilitating design and awareness sessions that are focused on complex application solution architectures.
• Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to articulate architectural differences between solution methods and the challenges and approaches to integrating solutions built on different platforms including a working knowledge of different architectural frameworks.
• Expert knowledge and experience with enterprise architecture pattern development and application, cloud native architectures and agile delivery.
• Expert in current software design practices including: object-oriented design, service-oriented architecture (SOA), Web Services (SOAP/XML), REST, model-view-controller (MVC).
• Ability to move between high level architectural review/design and the "roll up the sleeves" level of providing architectural oversight for delivery projects.
• A demonstrated command of cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.
• Progressive experience as a senior application and/or solution architect or technical lead in large company spanning multiple enterprise systems both on-premises and in the cloud.

Certification/Licensure:

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Apps certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365, Power Apps + Dynamics 365 Developer Associate, or equivalent, are highly desirable

Knowledge and Technical Skills:

• Experience with several frameworks, including but not limited to TOGAF, ITIL, and SAFe
• Architecting large complex solutions using the Microsoft Stack
• Experience with ETL and related pipeline technologies like Azure Data Factory
• Solid understanding of Relational Database concepts
• Experience implementing, integrating, and evolving several DevSecOps tools
• Experience with various security frameworks and technologies
• Experience building and managing APIs for system interaction
• Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication

Language Skills

• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Physical Demands:

• Ability to fulfill office activities including, but not limited to, remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e., while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.
• Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

• Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
