Working with Pfizer's dynamic Sustainability NetZero.2040 engineering team, you will play a critical role in the management of manufacturing thermal utilities systems to improve manufacturing success rates and ensure energy efficiency and NetZero objectives are reached. Your focus is on all thermal related systems in the utilities portfolio (chillers, boilers, heat pumps, compressors, etc.).
Whether you are involved in the design and development of manufacturing thermal processes for products or supporting maintenance and reliability, engineering is vital to making sure customers and patients have the medicines they need, when they need them.
Working with our innovative engineering team, you'll help bring medicines to the world even faster by imagining what's possible and taking action. Your goal is to design new processes or modify existing processes that are aligned with decarbonization requirements.
What You Will Achieve
With NetZero.2040, Pfizer is committed to achieve its decarbonization goal by 2040. Working with Pfizer's dynamic engineering utilities team, your main goal is building and implementing decarbonization strategies for thermal utilities systems.
As a Senior Engineer, your knowledge and skills of thermal utilities systems will contribute towards the goals and objectives of the team, to improve supply reliability success rates, utilities data management and energy reporting that drive NetZero.2040 decarbonization efforts.
Your focus and ability to meet team targets will help in completing critical deliverables. Your innovative use of communication tools and techniques will facilitate explaining difficult issues and establishing consensus between teams.
Through your comprehensive knowledge of thermal principles, concepts, and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies for accelerating energy efficiency improvements and decarbonizing efforts.
You will collaborate with cross departmental 24/7 teams of Utility engineers, technicians and operators whose focus is on the day-to-day operations of all thermal utility systems and it's infrastructure.
Your oversight of utilities systems management activities for databases and applications also includes upgrade strategies.
You monitor regulatory and compliance driven demands and trends continuously to adjust policies and remediations for environmental, energy reporting and dashboarding.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Demonstrate good planning, organizing, time management and team participation skills.
  • Develop and maintain standards and system support for existing and new systems supporting NetZero metering and dashboarding technologies.
  • Support site wide energy metering solutions for a variety of Utility types
  • Implement and maintain solutions for utilities Thermal Systems data collection, reporting, dashboarding, instrument monitoring.
  • Continuously evaluate new Thermal Systems related technologies and technical developments
  • Participate in the site Energy SPoC network and Energy Initiatives
  • Be an advocate for the Pfizer NetZero.2040 decarbonization program.
  • Support the NetZero.2040 deployment Change Management program.
  • Maintain the unified utilities data management strategy aligned with existing core solutions.
  • Explore predictive data modeling options for life cycle and energy management.
  • Explore smart IIoT technologies for Thermal Systems applications.
  • Coordinate colleagues and contractors training for new technologies and applications
  • Benchmark with internal and external resources
  • Mentor and guide junior staff and serve as a technical trainer, whenever necessary.
  • Clearly communicate progress and issues to management and peers.

Qualifications
Must-Have
  • Applicant must have HS Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • OR an Associate's degree with 6 years of experience.
  • OR a Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • OR a Master's degree with more than 1 years of experience.
  • 5+ years Expert level experience of Thermal Systems concept design, implementation, startup and maintenance.
  • Experience with Thermal Systems controls, data historians including design and interfacing.
  • Excellent project management, presentation and communication skills.
  • Good Organizational skills and can meet project task deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work in team environment and contribute as a team member.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to management, above site organizations and customers in an effective and understandable manner.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel.

Nice-to-Have
  • 10+ years Expert level experience of Thermal Systems concept design, implementation, startup and maintenance.
  • The ideal candidate should have a background in cGMP regulations and the practical application of those methodologies to control systems.
  • Data Management experience, IIoT Applications, PDH systems (i.e. OSI PI).
  • Certified Energy Manager - Certified.
  • Prior experience with Industry 4.0.
  • Prior experience with Schneider Electric Power Metering Ecostruxure PME software and components.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Job will include standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Occasional lifting may be required.
  • Office and computer work.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Business hours but occasionally off shift hours as project requirements or emergencies occur.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $75,700.00 to $126,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
