Job ResponsibilitiesSummary

Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering this individual works within the Industrialization teams to assure the definition of  tools, systems, equipment and methods related to Mechanical and Controls Assembly operations in production processes are functioning in an energy sustainable way, in order to achieve defined targets (efficiencies, quality, safety, ergonomics, etc.).  The individual will have experience and the ability to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and utility loads to the facilities. They  also support the continuous improvement and safety of production processes activities in the Comau Plants.

Duties and Responsibilities(these ae the positions essential duties and is not an all inclusive list)

 

Main areas of responsibilities are:

  • Concept layout study, detailed layout deployment, Process FMEA and control plan analysis;
  • Evaluating existing manufacturing processes & identifying areas for improvement. Determine problem resolutions & implement improvements
  • Ability to collect, combine and analyze data from various sources and generate reports and graphics. Must be able to combine large volumes of data for consolidated reporting
  • Developing detail layouts for equipment, processes & workflow. Researching & developing new processes, equipment & products.
  • Prepare technical specifications and address the Purchasing department to select suppliers, supporting the definition of the supply contract
  • Experience with electrification, battery handling and safe practices
  • Provide guidelines for utilize DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing – Design for Assembly) and Design-to-Cost during Product Development phases related to facility needs
  • Work as focal point for the development and implementation of Best Practices in Manufacturing area, facilities, energy management and safety.
  • Establish the best practices and drive the utilization of standards on all the plants
  • Support CAPEX definition (with kaizen methodology) & new machine installation
  • Take a lead in manufacturing process improvement, reduction of NVAA, SVAA. Implement visual management, proficiency with AutoCAD 2D, understanding of 3D designing.

  • Analysis and test for cost reduction
  • Proficiency with CAD for 2D design
  • Time Analysis or other similar work analysis
  • Ergonomic knowledge (OCRA/NIOSH)
  • Project and People Management
  • Understanding of ISO9001/15001/45001 Audits

 

Qualifications

  • Education :
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experiences
    • At least 3 years’ experience in energy management/ electrical/ manufacturing engineering / methods
