DCI is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its research and development organization, DCI Labs, in Kent, Washington, who will be responsible for research and innovation transfer to new product development group. Requirements

What You'll do:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify key industry problems and devise practical solutions.
  • Conceptualize and prototype new product designs that solve real-world problems in the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) industry or similar/related industries.
  • Translate Business Requirements into Engineering Specifications
  • Architect System-level Designs and provide implementation leadership and mentorship to team members
  • Design battery-operated systems which make use of both system-on-chip (SoC) and micro-controllers connected to a variety of peripherals and sensors
  • Design, Simulation and Test of complex Analog, Digital and Mixed-Signal systems
  • Assume responsibility for Circuit Design, from requirements through Production, and post-Production support
  • Lead development of proof-of-concept and prototype units with product management and fellow engineers.
  • Collaborate with R&D Engineers to rapidly iterate prototypes for next-generation product concepts
  • Support commercialization of new product designs as a consultant throughout the final development and production stages.
  • Develop knowledge base of completed and halted previous R&D efforts to capture lessons learned from past experience.


Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in design, test, and validation of complex electrical systems with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field.
  • Experience building prototypes and testing engineering designs.
  • Experience integrating and evaluating MEMS chipsets and sensors.
  • Ability to articulate complex physics and electrical domain issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fluid, highly-collaborative environment.
  • Expertise with design, architecture, layout, and testing of low frequency and low noise analog electronics
  • RF Design, Simulation, and Test experience
  • Proficiency with the Altium electronics design software
  • Mixed-Signal PCB layout experience
  • Expertise evaluating and debugging hardware using standard engineering laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, etc.)

Desired:

  • Graduate degree in Engineering or Physical Science
  • MATLAB or similar analysis tools
  • EMI/RFI control and minimization design and testing experience

Compensation:

  • DCI is proud to offer comprehensive compensation packages including competitive base pay and discretionary quarterly profit sharing bonuses to all part-time and full-time team members. Base pay is reviewed at a minimum on an annual basis.
  • Pay range: $134,015 - $159,900 per year. To ensure equity, our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors consideredfor payinclude thelevel of skill,experience, training, external market factors, and internal value.
  • Profit sharing bonus: Over the last 3 years, quarterly bonuses ranged between 11% and 27%. Future bonuses could be higher or lower depending on company profits.

Hybrid Work Schedule:

Success delivering the highest quality products requires this role to collaborate across engineering, product and manufacturing. This position has a primary work location at the Kent, WA location and requires three days in office.
