Job Description
Location: Beverly, MA area
This Senior Electrical Engineer will support a very successful medical device manufacturer in designing analog circuits and power systems for next generation medical device technology with a diverse hardware and software engineering team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• High-power circuit design for high voltage/high load systems
• Design AC and DC power conversion, distribution, and protection circuits (voltage up to 600VDC, power up to 10kW).
• Develop microcontroller-based battery management systems for high-power Li-ion batteries, with C programming skills.
• Provide PCB layout support, considering constraints for high-power designs.
• Conduct system testing, implement regulatory approval strategies, and address EMC/EMI concerns.
• Develop reliability test protocols for environmentally stressing designs.
• Analyze systematic fault modes and implement corrective action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 8 years in direct analog and digital design.
• Experience in medical device development, FDA guidelines and IEC60601 compliance.
• Experience in battery-powered systems and high-power battery arrays
• Familiarity with Li-ion battery management systems.
• Knowledge of battery performance (chemistry, load profiles, monitoring)
• Experience in AC and DC power conversion, distribution, and protection.
• Expertise in ground-up circuit design, including discrete power components.
• Proficient in schematic capture using OrCAD, with knowledge of PCB circuit design.
• Competence in analog and digital circuits, power, test software development, and motor control.
