Job Description
JFSWNY is hiring a Sr. Director of Human Resources. As the Sr. Director you will oversee the operational and strategic management of the Human Resource Department. You will report directly to the CEO and will oversee two staff, an HR Generalist and Talent Acquisition Specialist.
JFSWNY has experienced extensive growth over the past four years and additional growth is planned. JFSWNY currently has a budgeted staff of 130 across seven sites with additional growth planned. JFSWNY employees in the Clinical Services Division are members of the CWA union. This position is expected to start in February/March 2024.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Sr. Director will have oversight of the employee /labor relations, compliance, benefits and compensation management, talent acquisition, employee lifecycle, and cultural development within the organization. The Sr. Director will be expected to split their time between operational and strategic management and will have a planning horizon of 2-4 years.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years' experience in human resource management with a background in the nonprofit setting preferred. A strong understanding of employee relations, recruitment, employee lifecycle management, benefits, and compliance is essential to success in this position. Experience working with unions is a plus.

The position is a Grade XI with a pay range of $85,000-$95,000 based on experience. JFSWNY offers a comprehensive benefits package, 4+ weeks accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), 13-15 annual paid holidays, and 21 days of PTO, excellent health insurance options (IHA), 401k and much more. We also have a reduced full-time work week of 35 hours and an early close on Fridays!
This position requires a reliable vehicle, a clean NYS driver's license and required liability insurance levels of 100/300K.
