Position Responsibilities:

Join our team as a Sr Design Specialist, working closely with project and application engineers to create innovative robotic system designs. Your role includes using CAD tools, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties:

• Use Epicor system features for project management and design.
• Extract customer needs from specifications and documentation.
• Adhere to ISO procedures and provide process improvement feedback.
• Develop layouts and bills of material for automated systems.
• Evaluate component characteristics for design and cost objectives.
• Participate in design review meetings.
• Analyze test results and implement design changes.
• Identify opportunities for design improvements.
• Create accurate production release drawings.
• Review and approve engineering change requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Provide innovative design solutions based on customer requirements.
• Mentor junior designers and co-op engineers.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD.
• Apply DFMA mechanical techniques and understand manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate designs for compliance with industry standards.
• Consider quality and customer satisfaction in all projects.

Qualifications:

An Associate degree and six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. Requires machine/system design and AutoCAD drafting experience and expert in Solid Edge or Solid Works skills.
