The Sr. Consultant, Risk Analytics is responsible for acting as a lead contributor in the development of a high-quality Risk Analytics and/or capital allocation framework for the Corporation. Resolves complex issues in modeling and measuring risk, allocation of capital for performance measurement, or other aspects of risk measurement.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Responsible for Data Engineering, Data Analysis, Business Analysis and Project management/ coordination for Risk & Compliance projects.
- Responsible for stakeholder management, gathering requirements, supporting business process requirements evolution through data analysis, implementation of the requirements by coordinating with the Developers and Analysts.
- Provides technical/theoretical expertise to resolve risk issues and enhance overall risk framework. Works with other Risk teams to ensure that risk management policies/processes and quantitative Data and BI approaches are consistent
- Provides communication and training efforts to promote understanding of risk measurement throughout the company
- Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function and technical skills including SQL, Python, Power BI, SharePoint, Azure SQL, ADF, Azure Synapse, etc.
- Acts as subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level
- Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult
- Role is balanced between high level business analysis, project management, stakeholder management and hands-on data development, engineering, data analysis, validation, prototyping, support and maintenance, access controls, documentation, etc.
- Conducts analysis, independently ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or Senior management
- Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within Risk Management for specific product(s)
- Playing a PMO role within Risk Analytics to ensure adherence to controls, Data Governance, Information Security, Audit and Risk related NT policies.
- Support integration of Risk Data products into Data Mesh and overall enterprise Data strategy.
- Possess learning agility to pick up new technical and project management skills as well as follow agile principles and values to create safe experimentation environment to innovate and build new data solutions.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Analytical and problem solving skills are required.
- Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. SQL, Python, Power BI, Advanced Excel, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric) is strongly preferred.
- Strong conceptual and technical knowledge of risk concepts, data engineering, data modeling, ETL, automation, reporting and BI techniques.
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required; Advanced degree in related field (Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics) or equivalent career experience preferred. Related Industry qualification is preferred
