Job Description
Benefits Specialist Duties include:
• Employee retirement program administration
• Perform weekly retirement plan funding
• Audit employee set-up in payroll system for correct retirement plan contribution level
• Manage carrier files, including monitoring file transfers and reviewing and correcting data errors.
• Integrate new employee groups (union and non-union) into existing retirement programs, ensuring compliance and effecting necessary plan amendments as required.
• Lead retirement plan audits by preparing, collecting, and organizing data for actuarial assessments in preparation for timely annual filing requirements.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Demonstrates broad knowledge of the variety and structure of retirement plans, including qualified and nonqualified plans.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Finance, or related field or a comparable combination of education and benefits experience.
• Thorough understanding of retirement principles and practices, including compliance regulations.
• Knowledge of current practices of retirement savings plans administration including strong capacity in understanding and managing plan provisions, understanding implications of plan changes.
