Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1What Is the Opportunity?
Join the team that collaborates across Travelers to provide actionable insights to inform business decisions, drive winning strategies and enable the business to capitalize on change and trends. Enterprise Market Research (EMR) provides internal clients with objective, credible insights to help profitably grow the business, build the brand, and positively position Travelers in the marketplace.This position will report to the Manager, Primary Qualitative Market Research Operations and will interact broadly with the entire EMR team as well as internal business unit clients.
This position will be in the Research Operations team supporting primary market research and our online market research communities. This team leverages qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to obtain an understanding of the needs, behaviors, attitudes, expectations, and perceptions of key target audiences (customers, prospects, and distribution partners).
This role manages qualitative operational project activities including management of our online market research communities, project logistics, managing recruiting, interpreting and documenting research insights during qualitative research, open-ended comment analysis, and reporting of above average complexity. Balancing multiple projects while working with manager to help prioritize project work and deliverables. Other duties as assigned.
Position does not manage others.
What Will You Do?
- Manages online market research communities, including project logistics, activity creation, community management, and other research logistics.
- Manages online market research community members, including monitoring health metrics, recruitment, interacting with members, and member support as needed.
- Supports management and execution of ad-hoc qualitative research projects, recruiting, and vendor logistics.
- Effectively communicate project logistics to internal and external partners.
- Interpret and document research insights during qualitative sessions and critical meetings.
- Assist with open-ended comment analysis and theme detection to deliver insights.
- Program online surveys, manage data collection, set up data tables and generate findings.
- Work on a variety of projects of above average complexity across all businesses.
- Experience with synthesizing and summarizing data into readable and creative reports.
- Interest and/or experience moderating qualitative research like discussion boards, live chats, in-depth interviews, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Familiarity with qualitative research principles, methodologies, and designs.
- Familiarity with online market research community principles, methodologies, and designs.
- Property casualty insurance and/or B-to-B experience desired but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, market research, marketing, sociology, psychology, or other social science degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information from survey or qualitative data.
- Proven ability to derive observations from data and analysis and develop possible implications.
- Advanced PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience programming in a survey platform (i.e., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Pollfish, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with online market research community platform (i.e., Fuel Cycle, Rival, My-Take, Maru, etc.).
- Experience with online qualitative market research platforms (i.e., Sago, Voxpopme, iTracks, Recollective, Dscout, Discuss.io, etc.).
- Experience with data analytic software platforms (i.e., SPSS, Wincross, etc.) a plus.
- Experience working with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated proactive communication and attention to detail.

- Minimum of 1 year of market research or related experience required.
