Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to empower Category Management to make better decisions by providing analytics and insights by leveraging the company's internal data warehouse, financial reports, financial data tables, market share research and trade publications in order to make better decisions that grow sales and margin, increase market share, maximize supplier revenue streams, and optimize retail assortments and inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities
•Explain category level financial results to identify opportunities to improve financial performance by developing and evaluating weekly reports. •Analyze promotional activity to determine optimal promotional offers that both drive sales and deliver strong margins. •Analyze item sales and profitability to ensure the plan-o-gram mix is optimized to deliver against the company’s financial goals. •Perform ad hoc analysis as requested by supervisor, Category Vice President, or Senior Management to aid management in making fact-based decisions that yield superior financial results. •Assist in the quantification of the impact of retail pricing strategies that optimize billing margins and item profitability. •Identify and implement alternative methods to improve ad hoc analysis and streamline routine reporting to increase department productivity. •In conjunction with the Category Manger, prepare and evaluate seasonal buy plans and develop category fiscal plans to increase profitability. •Enable the Category Manager to profitably grow sales across customer segments by analyzing customer segmentation performance and trends and to understand market share trends to drive improvement. •Assist in the management of inventory including identification and resolution of slow moving items, out of stock issues, and replenishment problems in order to increase sales. •Perform supplier level analysis to optimize Rite Aid profitability by supplier. •Develop tracking for new items and new merchandising initiatives to understand performance and identify business issues and opportunities.

Pay range

The typical starting pay range for this position is between $72,000 - $103,275 annually, although wages can very based on experience and geography.
