SQL Server Developer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
- Design and develop SQL databases and write queries to interface applications with SQL databases in line with the application’s requirements.
- Develop, implement, and optimize queries using T-SQL.
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and suggest and implement efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications and aid in complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Defines and executes procedures for testing and implementing new applications in the database environment.
- Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements and build reports based on these requirements; may include visualizations and dashboards.
- Develop procedures and scripts for data migration.
- Ensure data integrity and quality in database systems.
- Configure and maintain database servers, policies, and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Assesses current and projected database performance and recommends changes and enhancements.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in DBMS and related technology.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing resolution end-to-end.
- Provide support for critical production systems and data related requests.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Education:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of file structures and design, information retrieval techniques, file access methods, and database controls and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field required.
- 2-5 years of related experience required.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
