Sprinkler Fitter

Fire Sprinkler Fitter responsibilities include cutting, threading, assembling, and bonding all pipes and tubes to ensure they pass every fire inspection. Many Sprinkler Fitters take on additional duties as pipe fitters and install and repair piping related to fire protection.

Position requires how to safely operate a variety of tools, including cutting torches, drills, saws, and wrenches, as well as be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

To operate a company-provided vehicle, you must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities:

· Installing, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, emergency exit lights, fire hydrants, and fire pumps as per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and local codes.

· Troubleshooting and diagnosing existing fire protection systems to identify and repair malfunctions.

· Completing detailed inspections and documentation of all work performed.

· Collaborating with fellow technicians and management to ensure efficient project completion.

· Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.

· Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

· Traveling to various customer locations within the assigned region.

Competencies:

· Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong note-taking skills.

· Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in confined spaces.

Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements:

· Highschool diploma, or GED/equivalent; required.

· Must hold a valid California Fire Sprinklers Fitter card.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in the fire protection industry, preferably with experience in commercial and residential settings.

· Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

· Must be able to pass a background check.

Lifting Requirements:

SEDENTARY Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying small items (files, manuals, binders)

x LIGHT Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 10 pounds

MEDIUM Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds

HEAVY Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 pounds

VERY HEAVY Lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and or carrying objects weighing 50 pounds or more

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
