Spring 2024 Tax Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Full-Time Accounting Intern to join our team for the 2024 Spring tax season. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of accounting and taxation while contributing to our team's success. As a Full-Time Accounting Intern, you will work closely with our experienced accounting professionals, assisting in various tax-related tasks and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Tax Preparation:
   • Assist in preparing individual and corporate tax returns.
   • Verify tax documents and supporting materials for accuracy and completeness.
   • Input tax data into accounting software and perform data validation.
2. Tax Research:
   • Conduct research on tax laws, regulations, and updates.
   • Assist in identifying tax-saving opportunities for clients.
3. Client Support:
   • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries.
   • Provide excellent customer service by responding to client requests and resolving issues.
4. Data Analysis:
   • Analyze financial statements and records to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
   • Assist in identifying potential discrepancies or errors in tax documentation.
5. Administrative Tasks:
   • Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and records.
   • Assist with administrative duties related to tax season workload.
6. Team Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with our team of professionals to ensure efficient workflow during tax season.
   • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations (prior tax-related coursework is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (knowledge of tax software and QuickBooks is a plus).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.

Duration:

This is a temporary, full-time position designed to support our team during the tax season. The duration of employment will typically range from January to April, but this may vary depending on the company's needs.
