JOB PURPOSE
Prep and paint parts of firearms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares finished surfaces by wet sanding and buffing.
- Prepares surfaces for paint by sanding, bead blasting and using masking.
- Apply Body filler to smooth sheet metal surfaces.
- Roughen aluminum surfaces to create paint adhesion properties for the surface to be painted.
- Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
- Performs painting using conventional spray guns, Pressure pot, brushes and/or rollers.
- Prepares quotes for time, material and jobs.
- Documents paints and procedures used in painting and repairs.
- Maintains equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions, completing preventative maintenance requirements and schedules.
- All other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of automotive/industrial paint process and prep work to be completed.
- Ability to efficiently use various hand and power tools.
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work with multiple priorities and constant interruptions.
- Basic communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Must understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain confidentiality as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PSA Manufacturing experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an operational warehouse environment. While performing regular duties, this position is exposed to various chemicals and solvents. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching, and full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, manual and finger dexterity, as well as a normal range of hearing and vision.
