OBJECTIVE:
Under general supervision and guidance of the Recreation Programmer, the Kickball Supervisor is accountable for the safe and enjoyable participation of all participants in the City Kickball league. This person is responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of the league and facility, ensuring cleanliness of the facility, and maintaining order in the leagues.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Recreation Programmer
Works with seasonal employees on a regular basis and communicates with other division employees, professional staff, kickball players and the general public.
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Understand, clarify and enforce league rules.
  2. Open and close procedures, i.e.-unlock gate and press box, turn on appropriate lights when needed, turn off lights at the end of the night and lock facility.
  3. Cleans the facility as needed, including press box, fields, spectator areas, etc.
  4. Verify player eligibility from scoresheet by checking official team roster.
  5. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  6. Handle disputes on the field.
  7. Eject players when necessary.
  8. Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations and follow a pre-determined course of action.
  9. Maintain documentation of player injuries, complaints, and problem reports.
  10. Provide first aid and react appropriate in emergency situations.
  11. Prepare facility before game and clean and take down all equipment after all games.
  12. Turn in score sheets and other documents to the Recreation Division Office nightly.
  13. Report issues to supervisor.
OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Record team scores and statistics of the games in the binder and make sure team managers sign the score sheet each night.
  2. Write any roster changes on the back of the sign in sheet.
  3. Arrive at the designated site 15 minutes before game time to make sure the area is prepared for play.
  4. Be a liaison between league and office.
  5. Responsible for league equipment.
  6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements/Qualifications
RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of the position.
Education, Certifications and Experience:
  1. Experience with the fundamentals of the game of kickball.
  2. Previous supervisory experience desired.
  3. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications, or willing to obtain.
  4. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  5. Ability to work evenings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of the game of kickball.
  2. Skills playing kickball or coaching kickball preferred.
  3. Follow city/department/division policies, work independently and make sound decisions.
  4. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  5. Must have great customer relations as well as reliable transportation.
  6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city employees, department professionals, staff, customers and the general public.

PHYSICAL FACTORS:
  1. Wear appropriate staff apparel.
  2. Lifting up to 15 lbs. to bring equipment bag to and from site.
  3. Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
  4. Ability to sit or stand and move for long periods of time.
  5. Ability to perform a variety of tasks outdoor in different climate.
  6. See and observe all sections of an assigned zone of responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodation.
