Handcrafted Wine & Spirits is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Spirit Specialist for the Portland / Eugene territory.
The Spirit Specialist is responsible for:
- Maintaining regular daily/weekly/monthly schedule and log of account visits and products shown.
- This position is expected to grow and develop brands by gaining new placements.
- Multiple weekly in store public demos (including weekends).
- Staff trainings.
- Leading educational seminars.
- Increase sales among active customers.
- Prospect for new accounts.
- Execute multiple demos per week.
- Build and grow relationships with key buyers.
- Increase awareness of The Handcrafted Spirits Portfolio.
- Working with management and supplier representatives to educate and promote products.
The territory includes key accounts from Portland to Eugene including the Willamette Valley. Reports to Spirits Portfolio Manager.
The ideal candidate will have experience selling throughout the three tier system. The Full Time Spirit Specialist position is a consolidated position servicing active accounts in a well established territory.
Applicants must have the ability to work independently and manage their time effectively with minimal supervision. Organization, product knowledge and humility are the keys to success. Ideal candidates will bring industry contacts and relationships beneficial to building new business.
Candidates Must Have:
- Have a working knowledge of spirits, spirits categories, industry standards and OLCC rules.
- Desire to "cold call" and follow up on new prospects.
- Have a positive attitude and desire to work with colleagues to continually improve our company and cultivate business in your territory.
- Have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.
- Be able to carry 40 lbs 50 feet.
- Be dependable, reliable and honest.
- Be self-motivated and have excellent time-management skills.
- Have superior professional communication skills both written and verbal.
Ideal Applicants will have:
- Have a history of relevant experience in restaurant and/or retail alcohol sales. Distribution sales experience is preferred.
- Have a computer and demonstrate basic skills in Google Office Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent spirits knowledge (please mention any relevant certifications and/or experience).
- Experience with OLCC SAP Vendor Portal.
- Experience with the Netsuite CRM/ERP operating platform.
- Experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Illustrator and Adobe programs.
- Have pre-existing relationships with customers in this territory.
