Becoming a Speech Therapist for Healthy offers dynamic social and work environments to nurses who prefer to work more intimately with patients and their families. You'll develop various types of technical and social skills you can't gain in facility or hospital settings.
Pay Rate: Starting from $36 per hour and up, DOE
Here's the stuff we'll look for on your resume
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Licensed/Certified in Speech-Language Pathology
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology
The day-to-day stuff
- Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), and identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
- Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient's function.
- Administers speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic technique and/or equipment.
- Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
- Confers with referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the total plan of care.
- As appropriate, participates in case conferences, in-services and other meetings required ensuring coordinated and comprehensive care.
