We are seeking a dedicated and qualified part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in the Elk Grove, CA area!
In this role, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Your work will be integral in helping our clients achieve effective communication and enhance their quality of life. The speech–language pathologist is responsible for implementation of standards of care for speech language pathology services and for adherence to all conditions in the Service Agreement.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will:
In this role, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Your work will be integral in helping our clients achieve effective communication and enhance their quality of life. The speech–language pathologist is responsible for implementation of standards of care for speech language pathology services and for adherence to all conditions in the Service Agreement.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will:
- Conduct appropriate evaluations, assess home environment (as appropriate), and identify equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
- Identify functional speech defects and establish a plan of care to improve the patient's function.
- Administer speech therapy programs utilizing specialized therapeutic technique and/or equipment.
- Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated.
- Confer with referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the total plan of care.
- As appropriate, participate in case conferences and other meetings required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Prepare and submit notes per organization policy.
- Maintain clinical competency in speech language pathology practice and theory.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refers as appropriate.
- Instruct patient, family/caregiver and other organization health care personnel in the patient’s treatment regime as indicated.
- Supervise home health aide in procedures directly related to the speech–language therapy plan of care when needed.
- Performs other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech language pathology services.
Qualifications:
- State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
- Possesses a master’s or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP).
- A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech–Language Pathology.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- ASHA certification is a plus.
If the State does not license speech-language pathologists:
- Must have successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or is in the process of accumulating such supervised clinical experience).
- Performed no less than 9 months of supervised full-time SLP services after obtaining a master’s or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field.
- Successfully completed an approved national examination in SLP.
