Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. You will work closely with patients of all ages, from pediatrics to adults, in various settings such as hospitals and critical care units. The rate of Pay is per visit. The general area of need is the Channahon Illinois are through Dwight / Morris Illinois area. This is a great area with a need for Home health Speech. The aging population is larger and would support a great amount of work for the candidate looking to get out of the office setting.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' speech and language abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results
- Provide therapy to patients with speech and language disorders
- Assist patients in improving their communication skills through exercises and techniques
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology
- Previous experience in critical care or acute care settings is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to speech and swallowing function
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
