Job Summary:
As an SLP with us, you'll play a crucial role in helping students develop their communication skills and reach their full potential. We are seeking a part time Speech Language Pathologist and AAC specialist to join our team for in clinic and school based services. The candidate must be available to travel for occasional assessments and consultations between clinic locations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students with diverse communication needs
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific goals
- Determines AAC needs as part of a comprehensive assessment, which addresses all areas related to the students disability and based on the students strengths, tasks, and expectations
- Prepares written reports as required
- Oversees application/approval of funding for speech generating devices (e.g., low incidence, California Childrens Services (CCS), MediCal, and private insurance)
- Provides direct support including, training, direction and consultation regarding individual students AAC needs for referring Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team members, including speech and Language Pathologists, teachers, psychologists, therapists, and parents/guardians
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with referring IEP Team members, including speech and Language Pathologists, teachers, psychologists, therapists, and parents/ guardians
- Provides and participates in staff development/training activities related to AAC
- Valid California Speech Language Pathologist license
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working in a school-based setting is a plus, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Must have experience in working with SEIS
