Specimen Processing Assistant
Who you are:
As a Specimen Processing Technician, you are at the heart of our laboratory operations. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will ensure that specimens are handled efficiently and accurately, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
What you’ll do:
- Support the registration, accessioning, and processing of clinical specimens and serve as a primary resource for specimen registration, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in specimen handling and processing.
- Perform clerical duties related to specimen registration, updating patient information, and obtaining necessary documentation.
- Enter patient registration information accurately and completely, ensuring adherence to protocols and procedures.
- Prepare specimens for testing, ensuring timely processing and maintaining quality processes and safety protocols.
- Work closely with colleagues and healthcare professionals to clarify specimen sources and ensure accurate processing.
What you bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education in client relations and/or communications desirable
- Strong familiarity and proficiency in using laboratory systems and computer applications, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and clients.
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols, including universal precautions.
- A genuine passion for providing compassionate care to patients and supporting their healthcare needs.
