Job Summary:
As a Specialty Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients with complex medical conditions, often requiring specialized medications and therapies. You will work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and patients to ensure the safe and effective use of these medications.

Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Essential job functions/duties

- Data Entry, filling prescriptions, preparing prescription orders for shipment.
- Inventory management
- Call patients to coordinate delivery, answering phones,
- Working with other members of the care team to ensure timely delivery of patient meds.
- Back-up Prior Authorization staff when required.
- Ensure medications are properly stored.
- Package and label pill and prescription bottles
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing patient medications.
- Assist in maintaining the pharmacy inventory.
- Assess and understand potential drug interactions.
- Interact professionally with patients, peers, and other outside vendors as required.
- Train new pharmacy staff on organizational processes and compliance procedures
- Complete HRSA 340B Compliance requirements upon hire
- Complete Apexus 340B on-line Modules upon hire
- Manage pharmacy software for patient compliance with treatment.
- Complete initial Pharmacy Technician training module upon hire
- Assist in outreach programs as needed.
- Other such duties as assigned by Pharmacy Supervisor
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Previous experience with Pioneer and Prior Authorizations
- Prior accreditation experience with ACHC and URAC greatly preferred.
- Some knowledge of Hepatology/HIV/HCV/HepB medications preferred.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Superb data entry and computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent Time Management required.
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred

Travel Requirements
- Some interoffice travel may be required with use of company vehicle or mileage reimbursement.
Education, credentials, and/or trainings required:
- Pharmacy Technician License through Arizona Board of Pharmacy
- CPhT Certification (PTCB or NHA) required.
- 1+ year of relevant pharmacy experience
- 340B knowledge, training or previous experience preferred.
- Prior experience assisting in preparing detailed policy and procedures for accrediting agencies.
- Experience with all aspects of the day- to -day pharmacy operations
- Prior pharmacy benefits experience required
