Description
SAIC has an opening for a Specialty Engineer in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. This is a Hybrid Remote position. Employment status: Part-Time Casual (20 hrs/wk)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for the technical aspects of each project. Capable of system conceptualization, system level requirements definition and System Test and Evaluation.
- Familiar with probability, reliability, statistical analysis methods, sampling and Test and Evaluation techniques, data collection and applicable regulations and standards.
- At least five (5) years in managing a professional staff must be demonstrated.
- They must have experience and skills necessary to perform the following tasks:1) primary contributor in application of engineering and scientific principles to meet technical requirements, 2) develop technical concepts, plan for implementation, monitor technical progress, design tests, assess performance data, and develop solutions to technical problems, 3) assist other technical employees by providing expert advice training, and technical guidance necessary in areas listed in scope and 4) author, edit and contribute to production of technical reports and other technical products, such as overall project concepts and descriptions, test plans and technical reports.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with at least fourteen (14) years of experience in field of study.
- Expertise solving technical and programmatic issues related to Energetics throughout the life cycle.
- Applies engineering knowledge and scientific principles to create, develop, and critically evaluate energetic materials proposals, advanced engineering projects, and related technologies in order to formulate realistic goals and objectives for the organization’s strategic roadmap.
- Plans, evaluates, directs and/or executes projects across the program area(s) and provides expert and authoritative advice affecting broad program operations to ARDEC top management and to high-ranking officials nationally/internationally.
- Continually be aware of emerging trends in assigned technical area.
- Uses knowledge and expertise to contribute critical input into the organization’s strategic plans and roadmaps.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and strive to expand the customer base.
- Assure timely responsiveness to Warfighter requirements and command/center requests for assistance and information.
- As an energetics expert/advisor/team leader, authoritatively provide input into the technology roadmaps and competency development strategies for external customers, such as OSD, ASA(ALT), CG-AMC, and TRADOC-ARCIC, SOCOM, JIEDDO, PM IED/Defeat, other PEO/PMs or Army Labs, Industry & Academia.
- Grow energetics competency by generating new business opportunities that support customer needs for technology and engineering support for all lifecycle phases.
- Communicate technical accomplishments through briefings and technical papers and strive to expand the customer base by creating and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Teach and coach peers and subordinates with the intent to improve their technical proficiency and safety practices in their assigned area.
CLEARANCE:
- Interim Secret to begin work on the contract.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
