Description
SAIC seeks an experienced and energetic Specialty Engineer to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Assured Access to Space (AATS) mission. The overarching purpose of the program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future.
Job Description:
- The successful Specialty Engineer will support to the program by integrating infrastructure improvement as it relates to Vandenberg Space Force Base and the program scope associated with modernization efforts at this location.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Desired Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and nine (9) years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and seven (7) years of relevant experience
Required Skills:
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into actionable project specifications.
- Provides detailed project requirements and Statement of Work for subcontractor bid. Support subcontractor selection, system implementation, and sustainment tools needed for the most efficient balance between business needs and mission requirements, including present and future Range mission capacity and facility requirements including: floor layout, power, tech power, cooling and network connectivity.,
- Serve as point of contact for Base Civil engineers, Army Corp of Engineers and Base Communication Squadron for infrastructure requirements needed to ensure an end-to-end capability is deployed and is sustainable on the Range.
Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
