The SPLC is seeking a Training & Benefits Specialist who is passionate about social justice!
The Specialist, Training & Benefits will coordinate and provide support for Southern Poverty Law Center's (SPLC) employee training, professional development and employee benefits program within our organization. They will assist with the administration and reporting of employee benefits including, but not limited to, auditing and advising employees and managers on policies, personnel procedures and employment regulations.

What You'll Do
Supports Training and development enrollment, including facilitating internal communications in support of Training and development opportunities and employee benefits.
Supports the development of Training and Benefits related materials; organizes and maintains the HR Intranet and HRIS with relevant Training and employee benefit materials such as training resources, organizational charts and staff directory.
Coordinates and organizes events and registration for online and in-person training, workshops and events by supporting the planning, registration, tracking participant enrollment, post training follow-up and event production for participants and facilitators.
Maintains relevant employee record information in the learning platform and HRIS and audits for accuracy.
Provides reporting, facilitates and coordinates responses to professional development activity requests and professional development plans.
Researches, communicates and facilitates Training and professional development opportunities.
Participates in the onboarding process and new hire orientation including assisting employees with new hire and Benefits open enrollment, terminations, benefits renewal and special enrollments.
Consults and assists employees with questions regarding benefits, changes to benefits and resolving issues with benefits and retirement providers including; submitting necessary paperwork, and maintaining employee benefits records for insurance policies, retirement plans, taxes, wellness programs, FMLA and parental leave.
Advises managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefits and compensation policies and personnel procedures.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience coordinating complex tasks and program development;
  • A minimum of one year experience in employee benefits administration; and
  • High school diploma or GED.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a non-exempt role, and the minimum starting salary is $62,332 ($29.96 per hour) annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Where & How You'll Work
This role the following work designations options:
  • Local Remote: Will work remotely, but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
  • Telework: Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.

Other Special Considerations
This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
