The Impact You'll Make in this Role

• Independent processing of regulatory and toxicological issues in the area of Product Stewardship
• Support in ensuring the salability of new products and all old products from a Product Stewardship perspective.
• Represent Product Stewardship in product development projects.

As a Specialist Product Steward you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Biocompatibility Assessments:

• Preparation of biocompatibility assessments in cooperation with toxicologists
• Monitoring of normative guidelines and literature as well as cooperation in various DIN/ISO committees in order to recognize new trends and derive activities in time

Project Work:

• Collaboration as Product Steward responsible in product development projects
• Input from toxicological and chemical law perspectives for operational and strategic planning

Chemical Legislation:

• Classification and labelling of new and old products based on current chemicals legislation (incl. GHS/CLP)
• Creation, management, and modification of safety data sheets
• Monitoring of legislation on chemicals in order to identify new trends and derive activities in time.

Expertise:

• Toxicological and legal expertise to answer chemical law- and safety-related inquiries from customers, authorities, and subsidiaries.
• Expert advice to focus factories on the preparation of operating instructions and to the supply chain in the preparation of country-specific labeling.
• Preparation of statements for R&D and sales arguments for marketing and sales from a toxicological, ecotoxicological and chemical law perspective

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• Seven (7) years of toxicology experience in a private, public, government or military environment

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemical, or Biological Sciences from an accredited institution
• Ten (10) years of human health risk assessment in a private, public, government or military environment
• Professional certification, Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) or equivalent
• Experience with evaluation of medical devices, food contact products, and/or drinking water contact products according to US and international regulatory standards, such as ISO 10993, ICH standards, drinking water standards, China NMPA standards, etc.
• Experience interacting with the US FDA, EU notified bodies, or other governmental regulatory agencies
• Experience with QSAR, computational toxicology, chemical read-across, and non-animal methods

The expected compensation range for this position is $133,435 - $163,088, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
