This is an exciting, newly created role focused on our Inkjet Division. The Inkjet Media Specialist will play an important role in defining and demonstrating the full capabilities of current and future production inkjet solutions. Primarily this will entail three areas of focus – establishing and expanding the compatible substrates for all inkjet products, producing print samples in support of all sales and marketing initiatives, and demonstrating the equipment for the same. Working closely under the Senior Manager, Inkjet Product Group, this role is roughly divided into one-third internal support for product team goals of launching and expanding the use cases for the equipment and two-thirds directly supporting sales and marketing efforts of the same.

This role is a chance to do something both different and meaningful daily, to challenge yourself, and to be a part of significant change in the production printing industry. Not too many roles like this are offered today in this industry.

+         Maintaining and publishing “Tested Media Lists” for all Production Inkjet solutions.

+         Establish color management expertise in support of all products and incorporate into our overall offerings and marketing efforts (G7+ and Gracol).

+         Developing library of pre-loaded color profiles for each production solution for the best user experience.

+         Developing strategic relationships with leading substrate manufacturers (paper mills) to be able to test new substrates before they reach the market.

+         On-site and remote customer support and channel partners on certain technical problem-solving efforts.

+         Plan and execute Proof of Concept events in support of all sales opportunities as needed.

+         Input into new programs working with the product team and marketing.

+         Testing all complex applications with peripheral devices, software solutions and offline finishing to ensure performance expectations are established and repeatable at customer sites.

Required:

+         Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education & experience

+         Minimum of 1 year experience with production inkjet printing and substrate testing/evaluation

+         Direct involvement with customers, sales and/or product teams in a demo and/or testing facility.

+         Extensive experience operating a range of production devices – toner and/or inkjet.

+         Experience working directly with customers in a demo center setting or at a customer site.

+         Familiarity with printing color standards (Gracol, SWOP, G7).

+         Solid technical and problem-solving skills.

+         Strong time management and organizational skills.

+         Excellent verbal and communication skills.

+         Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

+         Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred:

+         2+ years Production Inkjet Experience – Preferably Sheet-Fed Inkjet.

+         Idealliance G7 Expert certification.
