Here's What You'll Need
- An Associate's Degree in Applied Science or the completion of accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology or a High School Diploma/Equivalent with 2 years of work experience in invasive cardiology is required. (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required.)
- One (1) year of EP experience is highly preferred.
- Two (2) years in invasive cardiology experience is required if high school diploma.
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required or
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon required or
- CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT upon hire and
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support-within 90 days required.
- Call is required.
Here's What You'll Do
Patient Care
- Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
- Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
- Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
- Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
- Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards
