The Special Events Manager is fully responsible for all operations of the banquet and catering department, while ensuring that the service and quality of food adhere to the highest standards. The position requires excellent verbal and written skills, the ability to build relationships with clients and the community and to effectively design, manage and execute banquets and catering.
The special event manager's main responsibility is to manage the banquet and catering team, ensuring a safe, fair and productive work environment and to provide meal breaks. In addition will also be a Floor Manager for the restaurant, (table touching to ensure memorable dining experience for guests, assisting serving staff, and counting banks for Bar, and server drops)
1. Clients:
Assist clients in creating a memorable event.
Tastings for large group events, weddings and rehearsal dinners.
2. Contracts:
To draw up banquet event orders accurately
Collect deposits; Sign and send client receipts
To update BEO’s as date approaches
Provide kitchen and management staff the most updated event info
Tip allocation for banquet personnel that assist with events.
Review BEO’s at the weekly managers meeting
Place orders with vendors
3. Sales/Marketing:
Weekly visits to local hotels and businesses
Charity Events (i.e. Eat, Drink & Read/ Journalism Awards/ Adaptive Sports Camp)
4. Projections:
Cost analysis/ monthly sales comparisons
Update and set pricing for banquet menus & additional fees
Order rentals, obtain permits for offsite events, festivals and buyouts.
5. Restaurant Floor Management
