As a Special Education Teacher reporting to the SpecialEducation Program Administrator, you'll deliver high-quality services tostudents from kindergarten to grade 12. Emphasizing team collaboration, you'llactively participate in planning and implementing student programs, providingspecial instruction, tutorial assistance, and consulting with general educationstaff.
Rate: $45 -$55/h; Eligible for travel packages if living more than 50 miles from job
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
- Develops student education plans incollaboration with parents and department team members.
- Supports the learning of students with a diverserange of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
- Designs individual and small group instructionaligned with the general education curriculum.
- Assists in developing educational plans withvarious stakeholders to enhance students' educational, physical, and socialdevelopment.
- Prepares classrooms and materials for classactivities.
- Coordinates the implementation of IndividualizedEducation Programs (IEP) with general education staff.
- Monitors student progress, participates in IEPreviews, and revises as needed.
- Maintains accurate student records.
- Mentors and supports teaching assistants workingwith students with disabilities.
- Guides students through grade transitions andlife skills preparation.
- Assesses students' skills and educational needs,tracking their performance.
- Collaborates with other teachers to discussstudents' progress.
- Maintains positive relationships with studentsand parents through effective communication.
- Adheres to School District policies andprocedures
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university(preferred).
- Valid state teaching certificate as required bystate and district regulations.
- Minimum of one year teaching experience(preferred).
- State Teacher Certification - Special Education Credentialin M/M or M/S (required)
- Compliance with professional standards ofpractice.
- Current CPR certification if applicable.
- Must meet all federal, state, and localrequirements.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality andHIPAA requirements.
- Strong communication skills; proficiency inEnglish.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
