DAY-TO-DAY
As our Special Education Teacher - Early Childhood Specialist, you create a motivating and stimulating environment for students! You provide daily written lesson plans in book form, stored in an accessible location at the school, just in case of absence. Throughout the school year, you attend case conferences for each student and implement behavioral systems as needed. You maintain progress scales and ensure that attendance records are maintained accurately and submitted correctly at the end of the year. There are also monthly reports that you carefully keep and submit.
You attend various school-specific activities or parent meetings. Working with assigned professionals, you help coordinate therapeutic activities for the students. When necessary, you also help organize and supervise extracurricular activities. It warms your heart to see the progress your sweet students make!
REQUIREMENTS FOR A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIALIST
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Birth to 2nd certification for students with disabilities
- Eligible for a teaching certification OR enrolled in a program leading to certification
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to meet the minimum requirements of the appropriate state Board of Education
