- Working Hours: 40 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
- Student Age Group: Junior High
- Case Load: 7 Kids
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provider specialized instruction to students with disabilities, both in self-contained and inclusive settings.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress.
- Implement behavior management strategies to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with general Education Teachers, support staff, and specialists.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians.
- Utilize available resources, materials, and assistive technologies to support student learning.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to Special Education.
- Promote the inclusion of students with disabilities in regular classrooms.
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience in Special Education is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of effective strategies for working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to adapt to and address the unique challenges and opportunities of a diverse student population.
