Ohana Teacher Network is looking to hire contract Special Education Teachers with a degree in Special Education to provide parent coaching and in-home therapy to babies and toddlers (Ages 0-3) with special needs. The Special Education Teachers will coach families in supporting their children in all areas of development.
Duties include but are not limited to scheduling in-home sessions and coordinating with other providers,
- Scheduling in-home sessions and coordinating with other providers, conducting evaluations, attending meetings and writing reports.
- The teacher will also model and demonstrate strategies and coach parents to help children progress towards their development milestones for children ages 0-3.
- Special Education Teachers will also assist with the development of Individual Family Support Plans and document all services.
- Special Education Teachers may consult families and other providers on increasing engagement, attention, memory, cognitive, social skills and play skills of babies and toddlers with routine-based strategies.
- Each case will meet 1 -2 times per month (or more depending on the severity of the case) and the teacher will follow a case from start until they age out of the age range. Each in-home sessions typically last 1-2 hours depending on the case and severity of the case.
Ohana Teacher Network LLC is contracted by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Early Intervention Section to provide services to State Early Childhood State Programs and other contracted agencies. This is part time contract work based on Hawaii Early Intervention Section contract needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Special Education. No other degrees can be considered for this position at this time. Diploma and transcripts required before hire - no additional certifications or licenses required.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Previous SPED experience (1+ years)
- Experience with young children with developmental delays such as speech delay, hearing loss, autism and down's syndrome is preferred.
- Hired contractors will need to complete a 2-day Hawaii Early training. The hire will also be required to attend an Early Intervention - $37.50 per hour and reimbursable.
