Akiba Yavneh Academy(AYA) seeks an experienced Special Education Student Support Aide to support and assist earlychildhood and lower school classroom teachers. The successful candidate will beexperienced in general daily classroom and playground activities, in support of students with learning differences and behavior challenges. The Special Education/Student Support Aide isresponsible for caring for students' physical and emotional health, and safety,affirming student abilities, and striving to promote academic and social-emotionalgrowth and development.

Required Skills andQualifications:
Must hold an associate degree or higher preferably in a relatedfield.
Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in the field ofStudent Support and Special Education services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to exercise good judgment.
Ability to work with students at all levels.
Knowledge of the stages of early childhood learningstyles and developmental stages.
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Must pass an extensive criminal history and FBI fingerprintbackground check.
Essential Functions:
Follows the guidance ofthe division principal and/or director taking the necessary time to understandthe overall objectives of classroom and Student Support assignments.
Carries to completion ina timely manner, instructional and supportive activities as assigned by the leadclassroom teacher.
Works with specialEducation Students and/or identified students to support learning both insideand outside of the classroom.
Moves in and out of classroomsthroughout the day assisting students as needed or directed by the EarlyChildhood Program Director.
Works one-on-one withidentified students.
Supports the developmentof a safe and inclusive classroom playground environment.
Actively participates withstudents in play-based learning and exploration to role-model, support, and reinforcepositive student behavior.
Interactswith and maintains positive relationships with students, parents, schooladministrators, and other school staff communicating and/or receivinginformation.
Otherduties as assigned.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
Requires prolonged sitting and/or standing.
Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending,turning, and reaching.
May require feeding, toileting, and other hygene related services.
Must be able to lift 30lbs unassisted.
