We are currently seeking Mild/Moderate Special Education PE Teacher at our Culver City campus! Our Schools educate students with mild cognitive delays and challenges with social communication and/or language development. The school serves students ages 5 to 21, many with autism spectrum disorder. This integrated educational and therapeutic program is designed to promote academic, communicative, behavioral, social, motor, adaptive and independent living skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Mild/Moderate Special Education credential required; OR must be Intern or Provisional Internship Permit or Short-Term Staff Permit eligible (CBEST certification is required to qualify for these permits)
- Experience teaching students with autism, developmental disabilities and/or learning differences.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Plan, coordinate and implement individual student programs.
- Select appropriate curriculum content for each student.
- Determine appropriate, measurable goals and objectives for each student.
- Write individual education plans (IEPs) and participate in IEP meetings.
- Employ a trans-disciplinary approach to education, conferring with team members as appropriate for particular issues.
- Prepare or secure necessary instructional materials.
- Modify activities and adapt materials to promote student success.
- Design and use instructional grouping patterns that are varied and flexible, including individual, small group, and whole class instruction.
- Employ clear, predictable daily and weekly schedules, which accommodate students' needs.
- Prepare a weekly plan book to detail lesson plans, grouping, activities, staff assignments, and other relevant information.
- Employ appropriate, individualized teaching and reinforcement techniques to maximize student achievement.

Salary:
$56,000.00 - $54,000.00 for PIP/STP/Intern
$64,000.00 - $91,500.00 for Credentialed
