Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities
- Supervise and engage with preschool-aged children
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages social and emotional development
- Form and maintain professional relationships with staff, students and families
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of developmental milestones and appropriate practices for different age groups
- Familiarity with early childhood education theories, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience working with toddlers, including providing age-appropriate care, activities, and guidance
- Ability to create a structured and positive classroom environment that promotes learning and cooperation
- Incorporation of physical activities into daily routines to promote gross motor skills development
- Understanding of licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and daily operations in a daycare setting
Requirements:
- 12 semester units of college-level coursework in early childhood education
- Experience working in early childhood education or a related field
- Basic first aid including CPR certification
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds, bend down, lift overhead, transfer on and off floor
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 per week
