LOCATION

  • This position may be located in Bryan, Round Rock, or Lubbock.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Ag Business, Ag Economics, Finance, Accounting or Economics

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eight (8) or more years of lending/credit analysis experience, to include experience in the full economic cycle of agriculture.
  • Farm Credit System or experience in a related agricultural credit organization preferred along with experience with Farm Credit System borrowers' rights and loan litigation.

 
FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as a specialized resource focused on "criticized volume" not assigned to the Special Asset Group (SAG) exhibiting a strong level of patience and creativity to arrive at suitable solutions. Will act as a key influencer with customers and/or lenders and work with credit analysts in assigned area to address customer situations in or approaching OAEM status. This includes establishing and maintaining sound credit and loan administration, loan pricing, and establishing appropriate loan terms and conditions for the purpose of managing the loan risks for a variety of loans to include large and complex accounts.
  • May serve as a primary customer contact and work with a lender behind the scenes  to establish the proper approach.
  • Manage assigned portfolio in accordance with Associations' policies and procedures resulting in the greatest net return/best business decision. Work towards designated account retention and returning accounts to viable account status levels. Primary responsibility is prevention of loans entering special classification and reduction of non-earning assets through restructuring, borrower counseling and/or collection and resolution of distressed relationships. Analyze customer financial statements, including balance sheets, trend analysis, income statements, cash flows, collateral analysis, and performance reconciliation.
  • Serves as primary compliance officer on assigned loans and ensures the Association is within compliance with settlement laws and procedures. Contributes to the achievement of satisfactory Association credit administration and credit quality goals in assigned portfolio through building consensus of involved parties.
  • Monitors loan performance on assigned portfolio. Provides timely, efficient service to all internal and external customers to ensure completion of follow-up actions of loan servicing plan.
  • Primary responsibility for obtaining the necessary customer data through reports and systems by working with members of the Deal Team. Design innovative credit packages to meet customer and prospect needs. This includes establishing and maintaining sound credit and loan administration, loan pricing, and establishing appropriate loan terms and conditions to manage credit risk. Incumbents will communicate with customers and internal less experienced team members in lay terms and follow through to hold customer accountable for agreed upon actions and steps.

  • Strong, diverse industry knowledge and ability to understand a wide variety of farming and ranching operations.
  • Strong Credit experience to devise best options for refinancing/restructuring loans.
  • Excellent skills in judgment, decisiveness, analysis, and ability to appropriately respond and react quickly as situations dictate.
  • Excellent communications (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills especially during difficult conversations.
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high stress and complex situations and hold individuals internal and external to the Associations' accountable for agreed upon courses of action.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • A general working knowledge of Associations' processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of credit extension and loan administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Capital's financial products and services.
  • In-depth understanding of agricultural finance and farm production methods, products, and profitability. In-depth knowledge of FCA regulations and our Associations' policies.
  • Maintains current awareness of social, economic, governmental, and environmental forces impacting agriculture.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use applicable computer systems and databases.
  • Ability to interpret policy, programs, and regulations.
